Recently I sewed up some new Cosi swimsuits for my girls. My girls won’t be swimming any time soon but I was really in need of some updated photos of Cosi and the girls were excited about me making them some new bathers. Pretty lycra can be hard to come by and after finding no joy at my local fabric shops I decided to do some research into good suppliers in Australia.

After some time comparing prices, shipping and range, I found The remnant warehouse to tick some boxes! They had a good range of different prints and the girls and I settled on the two prints pictured. The floral print Juliette is wearing is here. While Isabella’s suit fabric is here. The cosi pattern is easy to sew up and really quite quick! I used my overlocker for the joining seams and trialled zig-zag for hemming on one suit and double needle hemming on the other. Zig zag has the advantage that you can sew from the underside of the suit so you can keep an eye on the elastic, while with the double needle you must sew from the right side of the suit. I prefer the look of the double needle but find the zig zag stitching easier.

The girls were very good to me modelling these suits last week while it was very fresh outide! We look forward to summer time when they can test them out in the water! The cosi swimsuit fabric is available in the sewpony shop.
